Mr. Fleurinat Murat started his business of block manufacturing in 2007. He has always had a local clientele, coming from the Carrefour area, as he is in the heart of the neighborhood, but not that close from the main road. Carrefour is another neighborhood that has been considerably affected by January 2010 earthquake, with a high demand of blocks for (re)construction. Fleurinat also makes and repairs block-making machines, which is a very profitable activity. When he heard about the training that Build Change was offering, he had been very interested.
Although first quality test results showed that his blocks were produced at a resistance very close to the Haitian standards, he participated to the training, to improve even more and reach a broader market.
